After drafting the 2003 All Star team last year Chris had a better draft. Brady would be proud. Merry Christmas...
Catcher: Molina. The guy may hit cleanup, in which case you couldnt ask for a better spot
First Base: Teixeira. In for a big year, lineup full of RBI chances. F him for picking NY
Second Base: Pedroia. A TB monster and the reigning MVP, will probably come back to earth a bit as people stop throwing him fastballs but he will be solid all year
Third Base: Beltre. OBP is pretty bad, fine everywhere else, needs to get back to the 15SB range, serviceable
Shortstop: Jeter. 10/10 last year sucked, I would think he has more left than that. Although if I was dating Minka Kelly i would just collect a pay check and head to her hotel room. Will give you runs and a good OBP
Outfield: Solid all around, Soriano, Rios are great combo guys as long as Soriano keeps his OBP up, Ellsbury huge source of runs and bags (g_bag_shaw). Wells hammy already hurts and that will be all year, lower SB total a bit.
UTIL: Hafner and Thome. One should be fine, the other will land on the ol waiver wire
Starters: Oswalt will be solid, if he can get his K's over 170 thats huge. Slowey is a favorite sleeper with a great spring, time will tell. Vazquez is tough, over 200K's but a tough ERA and WHIP, low Wins makes him a liability. Burnett won't pitch 221 innings again, if he does his elbow will pop off. Wins yes, K's yes, over 4 ERA and that 1.35 whip will only take you so far. Wainwright could prove to be the best value on the staff.
Relief: Lidge and Lindstrom 65 Saves and decent strikeouts, should be fine.
One of Chris' better drafts and should be a good team. Top 8
Easily the best picture of the season...
