I mean really? Keeping 3 Red Sox players? If the Sox shut their doors because of the recession you are sooooooooooooo screwed...bad move man, bad move.
Carcher: Napoli. He will hit some dingers but everything else is average, serviceable. Mauer on the DL and we shall see how he comes back...Mauer? i hardly knew her
First Base: Loney. This starts what looks like the weakest infield in the league, thats not to say that they won't play well though, on paper they need some help. Loney is fine, but you look for more from your first base slot. He needed 161 game to hit 13 HR's last year
Second Base: Kendrick. It's time to show his potential, the poor mans Cano which sucks, should be good for 20 bags (g_bag_shaw). He could hit .325, he could also get hurt playing guitar hero...
Third Base: Cantu, every 3 years or so this guy learns to hit again, and then forgets. Can he do 100/30/100, it's possible. Let's not forget he had an OBP of .295 a few years ago.
Shortstop: Drew. He will be solid, good production all around but to carry this infield he needs to pop 25 dingers and go 80/25/80
Outfield: Bay, Mags, Choo. Again, average Bay will give you good production, Mags is heading south but could pull an 80/25/100, Choo still has to prove his spot but 14 HR's in 90 games last year is interesting. He may be the piece Sean needs to move into the Top 10.
UTIL: Ortiz. a healthy Ortiz will be huge, especially for a team that lacks a power hitter, Sean needs 2006 numbers, don't see that happening
Starters: Beckett and Halladay, aces who if healthy will provide a great one two punch. After that who steps up? Ervin is on the shelf, Penny has an ass getting more Broxton-like by the day, and Masterson is in limbo. That leaves Petitte to muster up 16 wins...hmmmmm. Waiver pickups needed asap.
Relief: Jenks will up his strikeouts from last year, he will throw more fastballs. Fuentes left his arm at home and needs to grab it before they take batting practice on him. Serviceable.
A lot of holes, manny additions needed, ceiling is 8th place, sorry buddy, long season and many solid moves will help
