Not quite sure if Higgins is the co-GM on the phone or Dean just has a pretty terrible case of Tourette's, but his teams are always solid.
Catcher: Martin, solid and a great source of steals from the C position, also one of the most boring names in Baseball. From Canada too, cant be trusted.
First Base: Berkman, great OBP and surprisingly had almost 20 steals last year. If he is 100% on opening day should be great production for 160 games, but there is no chance of that happening.
Second Base: Kinsler, 20/30 guy with a solid OBP, great in a total base league given his speed. He also looks like a much better looking John Lackey so that should play well this year. Kinsler reminds me of some dickbag at the Nascar party "kid, this is beer like sixteen" "sounds about right"
Third Base: Davis, 30HR power possible, good gamble here. DeRosa can always fill in if Davis turns into a whiff machine. Davis looks like he is Noyes playing tee-ball, a whole year of batting righty and then remembers he was a lefty
Shortstop: Hardy but I am sure Dean will play Peralta here, similar players at the same age. He could try to play them both here and create some sort of Super Shortstop, similar to the Colavito Brodeur two headed monster in High School
Outfield: Holliday, Victorino, Bradley. Holliday will be a TB machine even if he doesnt hi the HR's that he once did, Victorino is a solid OF and a great source of steals, very underrated. Bradley will play 120 games so DeRosa may need to fill in here. He may also fight someone ala Monty Mack..."Monty mack 'bout to hit somebady" heard at the dining commons. Speaking of Monty Mack, he goes by the name "Boston George" on his Facebook. His favorite quote is "make money nigga"
UTIL: D. Lee, solid but fading 90/20/90 last year not bad, but gone are the 40 HR's. Terrible play. Anyone see Dave Winfield on Baseball tonight? Looks like he is 8 feet tall
Starters: After Webb I see a lot of gambles, which Myers shows up this year? The first half of last year was a disaster, second half he was a stud...probably something in the middle. Carpenter is a question mark, more so than Myers, 160 IP out of him will be huge. Ubaldo may kill someone if he doesnt get his control down, Floyd and Owings should be serviceable. Staff needs some work, Dean does well on waivers during the year.
Relief: Great Pen, The more Papelbon does well, the more he dances, which isnt really a good thing but he is a stud. I challenge Dean to Riverdance if he wins the league...move over flag dance. F Cord will get you saves and mild heart attacks but thats fine when you are in your 30's. Apparently you can give Sherrill a nice bottle of wine and he will hand over the closer duties, Ziegler a nice pickup as Devine's elbow is in some catchers glove.
Nice team Slim, great hitting, one of the best in the league, pitching needs some work, but yours did too at UMASS and you settled down nicely...just cant field pop-ups very well. Top 50
Wow...a lot nicer than I thought. I was sure that my team was doomed after we passed on McCann this year for Martin, and I read the first line of Crupi's review saying that McCann was the best catcher in the league.
ReplyDeleteFair and balanced. The starters will be an adventure. We will set the record for spot starts this season, I'm sure of it.
